Maine-based Jonah Tolchin is only 21-years-old, but he has the songwriting chops and singing prowess of an aged blues legend. The Yep Roc newbie is getting ready to release his debut album Clover Lane (out July 1), but you can get a little taste of the rootsy album right here.

The lyric video below for "21st Century Girl," animated by Erika Lepke, Tyler Donnelly and Meghan Ciaramitaro, features bits and bobs of American culture from the last century. Studebakers explode into gerbera daisies, hummingbirds and golden faces combine in collage, while Tolchin's lyrics swim about your computer screen.

"'21st Century Girl' is the only song I've ever written on the piano ... It came to me at Dirt Floor Studio in Chester, C.T.," he says.

"For me, this song is about waking up out of the monotony of everyday life, and becoming aware of the present moment. In the current age of humankind, these gaps of presence do not happen often enough."

Stick around for the Beatles-esque backing vocals, they'll keep you humming this one throughout the week.
